June

A busy month both socially and professionally.

My sister arrived from Australia for 2 months, giving up her summer vacation as she does every year, to help care for our parents. We celebrated her birthday, our anniversary and my parents 58th anniversary (we have a big family gathering now covering 4 generations every year). We also managed to fit in a visit to Ascot on opening day in top hat and tails thanks to John & Val O’Connell.

I was also invited to address the European e-Identity Conference (eema’s 19th Annual Conference) in Barcelona. David Goodman chaired the event, opening the proceedings with a quote from John Jackson, General Motors, "Identity is the foundation for everything we do." Much of the conference covered security and enterprise identity management, as you can see on the eema website, but the issue of Personal Identity Management Services was recognised as an important emerging factor which enterprise, public and private, need to embrace. PAOGA, and our Personal Identity Exchange (PIE), was seen as an key enabler for this business process.

I also had meetings with a number of PAOGA Customers, VC’s, Partners and Advisors as we grow the business.

July

I spent the first week in Singapore, where I am NED of a public company, and met with potential PAOGA partners keen to provide the PIE service in Asia and Australasia.

Attended a lovely family wedding in Rye (good luck and best wishes Rowena & Sam) in top hat and tails again, a wonderful Summer Garden Party in Surrey (thanks Ben & Heleen), a campsite supper in Berks (Lamb superbly cooked over a camping gas stove – thanks Sally & Patrick) and a BBQ in Herts (perfect day as always Raphael & Daphne).

I have been following the debates in the press regarding both the National ID Card (delayed but not dead – I wish they would get off this anti-terrorism nonsense and focus on government efficiency and cost saving) and Home Information Packs (likely to be voluntary rather than compulsory) with interest. I firmly believe that PAOGA has a customer-centric solution to both of these issues but I don’t underestimate the hill we have to climb to reach the necessary critical mass to make this a reality.

August

Just back from a very relaxing all too short break in Mallorca (thanks John & Val) and already my meeting and events schedule for August is filling up. Obviously not everyone goes on vacation in August.

The key event this month is the launch of our beta PAOGAperson service to invited participants to provide feedback and constructive criticism so that we can go to market to individuals next month. If you believe, like we do, that ‘Life’s better when you are in control’ then visit insight exec to see what PAOGA is about and watch this space.
